Have you ever heard of silica?
We wouldn’t be surprised if you haven’t – but at the same time, we’re definitely surprised that there aren’t more people who have!
But why is this so?
Silica, (also known as silicea, silicium or silicon dioxide) is a naturally occurring chemical compound known for its optimal health and anti-aging benefits. It is a proven vital building block required for the proper growth and development of the bones, joints, and connective tissues, as well as an essential element for the health and vitality of the hair, skin, nails, cartilage and arteries.
We all have silicium present in our bodies, but these levels unfortunately drop by up to roughly half by the time we reach 40 years of age. This is where the value of supplementation comes in.
The most bioavailable source of silicon is orthosilicic acid, which is abundantly found in the product BioSil. Although silicon is present in food as silicates, it is not readily bioavailable – so supplementation is necessary. Pure, 100% silica can be found in many different variations, including liquid gel, capsules and highly concentrated forms as well.
The overall health benefits silica is known to provide are impressively wide-ranging. These benefits include: skeletal system protection, as well as protection and reinforcement for the tendons, cartilage and ligaments, reinforcement of the arterial walls, relief from cardiovascular and circulatory issues, improved calcium absorption and digestion, osteoporosis prevention, and arthritis relief.
During a double-blind, placebo-controlled group clinical trial conducted by scientists at the Free University of Brussels, a group of 50 healthy women ranging from age 45 to 60 who demonstrated signs of premature aging and sun damage on their skin were examined over 20 weeks vs. a placebo group. The results were that the BioSil group experienced a substantial improvement compared to the placebo group, including shallower micro wrinkles (by up the 30%), improved skin elasticity by 55% and a substantial improvement in the strength of hair and nails.
Will you be supplementing with silica? We don’t see why anyone would want to turn down its incredible health and beauty benefits. We’ll be standing by silica for life!
