Some (Healthy) Words of Wisdom for Spring

New Season, New Beginnings… New YOU!

Spring is a time for growth. New beginnings in the circle of life surround us everywhere we look! Isn’t it refreshing?

That said, we think it’s a perfect time to gain control of your own health & wellness and create fresh, new habits that will be with you for the long run.

Quitting an old habit or beginning a new routine for self-improvement is usually looked upon as a daunting feat. Whether it’s tossing that final cigarette away, getting to bed and rising earlier every day or spending more time on oral hygiene (reminder – you’re supposed to be brushing twice a day for two full minutes at a time!), new adjustments always take willpower and effort.

Slowly, but surely, you’ll get there.

An easy way to improve your daily habits and routine would be to think of taking baby steps… changing one little thing at a time instead of trying to change everything all at once. For example, smoke one less cigarette a day. Or if you really want to wake up an hour earlier, start by setting your alarm just 10 minutes earlier each day… and so on. Many people find success with this “baby steps” strategy.

Little changes make a big impact.

The bottom line is… if you replace an action or habit you don't like with something more productive and positive, you’ll be sure to make your life a little happier and healthier! So whether it's getting up an hour earlier to hit the gym, finding an extra 10 minutes to sit quietly and meditate, or realizing you CAN give up that extra cup of coffee for an extra cup of water… creating a new and improved YOU is achievable.

The most important thing to remember is that it only takes 21 days to make or break a habit! That's a considerably short period of time to start turning your life around for the better. It's taken many people months or years to become the person they’re happy with today – and with baby steps, one thing at a time, you can truly be someone you are proud to call YOU.
